Buies Creek Fire Rescue

We are always looking for people interested in joining our organization.

Why Should I Join?

Do you want to be part of an organization that is respected by  everyone, challenges you, and allows you to help those in need?  If you feel like you can make a difference in life's emergencies, then Buies Creek Fire Department is the place for you.  We are always looking for men and women.  There is no age limit although you must be in good health.  The membership welcomes anybody living in our fire district to come by and pick up an application for volunteering.  All you need is a willing heart and we will provide the experience.  The Buies Creek Fire Department is a great place to be, several members have joined and gone on to become paid firefighters in big cities.  Our fire district and EMS district are a mix of both rural, industrial, commercial, and residential areas, their is a large variety of calls to run.  If you feel you can handle the challenge come visit us.  In twenty years what do you want to look back on?  This is an experience that you can be proud of telling your grandchildren one day.  Buies Creek looks forward to seeing you soon.

How Can You Join?

Turn in a completed application, in person, along with a current criminal background check and a current driving record.  Meet with the officers of the department for an interview.  Interviews are conducted the first Thursday night of each month at 7:00 pm.  All applicants are voted on by the general membership for approval.

Applications may be picked up at our station M-F 8 am-6 pm and Thursdays 7-9 pm or downloaded here.test

What Is Expected Of You As A member?

If you are voted on as a member then we expect you to train with us on a weekly basis.  This training time is listed as Thursday night from 7-10 pm at our station in Buies Creek.  However, there will be times especially during your first year where you might have to attend class or training 2-3 nights or a full weekend to obtain the necessary classes to complete your probationary year.  Family situations, work, vacations, and holidays     are an exception where you may miss meetings/training, yet you can not miss 3 consecutive mandatory training nights (EXAMPLE: 1st Thurs. night, 3rd Thurs. night, 1st Thurs. night of next month). The previous example shows the mandatory training nights, this will also be explained to you at a later time if you apply.    The only other thing we like to see are members who try and give 100%. We do not force members to obtain their EMS certification, but we do ask that if you have time please consider taking the Medical Responder or Emergency Medical Technician classes offered by local community colleges at area fire/rescue departments throughout the county. The final expectation is that you run fire calls with us and perform at a professional level while on-scene at incidents with Buies Creek.
