Dispatched to a residential
structure fire at 0530 hours this morning. Harnett County Fire
Marshall 4 was 1st on scene
& advised a single wide mobile
home 50% involved. E-821 was the first Buies Creek unit to arrive.
Crews initiated an
aggressive interior attack,
combined with a primary search of the remaining structure. They
encountered heavy fire
but were able to make a good
knockdown. E-842 arrived & secured a water source directly across
the street. E-642
pulled the 2nd line & assisted 1st
in company. All other units responding staged on the road & sent
manpower up. The
fire was knocked down inside the
structure, but had gotten up under the mobile home and was concealed by
the
under pinning around the
structure. About 15 minutes after fire attack was initiated, the
MAYDAY was sounded
for a firefighter, through the
floor into the well involved crawl space. The RIT was activated &
distressed firefighter
was removed without injury.
The fire was marked under control & units remained on scene until 1100
hours to assist
with investigation by Harnett
County FM-3. The structure was a total loss, but thankfully all
occupants had evacuated the
structure.
